Subtitles now work on iTheater Movies Module!

You will need codecs that can detect subtitles (Perian). We have tested Perian, and it can read subtitles from mkvs and .srt files with the same name as the video file. Perian supports srt and ssa, so its great graphics for text!
Coming to iTheater Movies Module Soon… You can get this via the svn repository now!.

Hi Everybody!
Development of version 0.20 is well under way; i wanted to let our users know how we are doing feature wise:
Completed Tasks:
iTheater Multiple Monitor Support
We have now the ability for the user to pick which monitor to use with iTheater. This was a much requested feature for all of you folks that hook up you mac to your television or other monitor. This is currently only configurable via preferences
Introduction of the iTheater Status Bar Item
Another great thing is the addition of an iTheater icon into the status menu; this helps because you have access to iTheater and its preferences via this menu or a user configurable hotkey shortcut.
(currently we are only supporting keyboard shortcuts, but there will eventually be support for apple remote and wii remote)

Thank you for your support!

We should be done with 0.1.4 by the end of the month. Basically iTheater has gone under a big rewrite so now its all modular making far easier for development.
But we need more developers to work on our core modules after 0.1.4.
What do we need?
We need people, who want to work on these modules,
Music Module (developer that would supplant our main developer in the future)
Images
Weather
DVD
Apple Remote
Movies (co-developers, to help our main developers)
Also after 0.1.4 is out, it should open the doors for people to develop there own plugins for itheater
Email me on ben@itheaterproject.com for more details.
Thanks
Ben

We want to deliver the best Mac Media Center, but in order to do so, we are going to need to take advantage of the core functionality that OS X offers us. Therefore, version 0.1.2 will be the last official release of iTheater that supports OS X 10.3. We look froward to continuing developing for 10.4 and the upcoming 10.5, but at this time the interest and resources for 10.3 development is just not feasible. We look forward to releasing some great stuff over the coming year that takes full advantage of all OS X has to offer!
